I Tied My Shoes!

I am not sure if a competitive personality is genetic (Seth is one of the most competitive people I know) but I will tell you this. A few weeks ago I was reading HeaMae's Blog and it showed Zane tying his shoes and Linkin wanted to see Zane so we looked at the blog together. I, being someone who is not competitive, didn't think much of it. Linkin however has been working on this laces since then. This weekend his hard work paid off and he can tie his shoes!

Yeah For Linkin!

Apple Sauce - Yummy!

Today we went out to the garden and picked some zucchini, tomatoes and best of all some apples. We decided to make some apple sauce and apple juice! Yummy!

Linkin picked the apples off the tree, washed them and brought them in the house!

We sliced them and boiled them

We put them in the food processor

And then we let it cool

Then we tasted it!

Fresno Visit

We took a little trip to Fresno/Clovis and this is what we found.

There's A First Time For Everything!

Seth got to paint Sadie's nails for the first time today! "Daddy, paint my nails!". "Ok, but I have never done this before." Talk about cuteness!

You always have to blow them dry!

New Glasses!

Linkin got new glasses! They even have clip on sunglasses!
I think he likes them!

Kindergarten

Linkin started kindergarten on Wednesday. He has been "looking forward to this all my life". He was counting down the days until finally, finally it was time.

He decided he wanted to wear his Mario shirt to school on his first day. Super cute smile!
Here he is on this way to school!
Here were are! Here is his school!
We made it to his classroom where we got to help get him settle in.

Co-Teacher Miss B was able to help him get settled and help wipe a few tears.

Today was his third day of school and he seems to be all settled in and enjoying himself. He has made a few friends already and didn't shed a tear today. Phew! "Mom, I didn't cry, that means I am getting use to kindergarten!

Harper Came To Visit

We were lucky to get a great visit from Harper Graham! We got to celebrate her since she recently turned 8 years old. We started out with a fun trip to Target where she picked out the adorable blue dress. It is a perfect fit for her!!

Linkin and Sadie were so excited they got to take Harper to their school for the day! How fun for them to share their cousin with their friends. After school I picked them up and we headed to the aquarium.

We got to touch the star fish, kelp, and some seaweed.

We saw some seahorses

We played in the kids area. Then we headed to the wharf
for some cotton candy!

We walked down the pier where we saw a ton of Jelly Fish and a handful of Harbor Seals!

Talk about a fun trip to Monterey! We miss Harper and can't wait for her next trip!

Garden Update

We got some Zuchinis. It was a family affair. We all went out and looked at the Zuchini and then picked them! How fun. It is great to see the kids get involved.

Seth Blood Work

Seth had some blood drawn the other day (just routine check). Check out his arm! Ouch!!

Granny And Drainy

Before we came home from Florida I decided to get the kids a few fresh toys so they wouldn't be so bored on the plane ride home. They were having a great sale on these little "Little Einstein" toys. I figured that would be perfect for Sadie.

Once we got on the plane I pulled them out. Linkin, Sadie and I began trying to remember their names. Linkin knew Annie was the blonde one but we just couldn't seem to remember the other one. After numberous guessing games and no success a mother in the other isle said "Oh, is that June?" Phew we were so glad to finally figure out there names.

After all the name searching Sadie has opted to call them "Granny" and "Drainy". She loves them and carries them everywhere.

A few days ago she held up Drainy and said "June...hahahaha!" but continues to call her Drainy. She knows, she knows their "Names" but has given them there own names. Love it.

P.S. Granny got a make over the other day, isn't it beautiful!?!

No One Knows

Linkin has had a secret for some time now. It use to be behind the chair but now it is under his bed. This secret is a place where he puts things, random things. He is 100 percent sure no one knows about it...with the exception of me. (that might be true).

He has always had a knack for collecting things so I gave him a collection box (great idea grandma). So he keeps this in his secret as well as many other things.

Today it looks like a bit of cash, collection box, this big black empty box and his coin collection.

Above is his is collection box including things such as a $2 bill, a couple dollar coins, a chucky cheese coin, a few batteries, a couple rocks from the beach, a tire pressure checker, a mini lego, some change, baby powder and last but not least.....

Nipple Cream! Yes, Nipple Cream! I purchased it shortly after I had Sadie and it is great for diaper rashes as well. Well, Hector the Collector got his hands on it and now it is safe and sound in his secret.

To be 5 again!

"That wasn't on my list of things to do today"

Ok so yesterday afternoon I was in a little fender bender in the parking lot of my office. Bottomline, I am innocent and she is guilty. I am sure her blog says "I am innocent and she is guilty". Anyway I am not here to plead my case rather to say "What was I thinking".

I was totally shaken up by the whole experience, we exchanged information, made sure we were both ok and then went our seperate ways. She called me later to make sure I was ok and to let me know she had contacted her insurance (we are about the same age).

Her: "I just wanted to call and make sure you were ok and let you know I contacted my insurance."

Me: "Yes, I am fine. I was just so frazzled from the whole event. This just wasn't on my list of things to do today"

Ummmm Duh! When was the last time a fender bender was on your list of things to do!

To Do List

  1. Wake Up
  2. Brush Teeth
  3. Take the kids to school
  4. Fender Bender
Shock, I was in shock.

Hide And Seek

Doesn't get much better than this.....

Sadie Counting: "1, 2! Yeah!"

Linkin Hiding: "I am in the living room"

Sadie finds him...with her doll.

Wait who got who here?

What To Do?

While enjoying our time in Big Sur yesterday I was taking pictures of the kids, Seth, the rock sculptures and the beauty that is Big Sur. During the excitment of taking a picture of the rock sculpture it happend...I dropped my phone in the river! Bummer!!! All my phone numbers, pictures, text messages etc have been lost. I put my phone in a bag of rice as soon as I got home but still no dice. What to do what to do?!

More To Celebrate

Once we got home from Big Sur we started to decorate for Seth Birthday party. I pulled out all our party decorations. Pirate banners, Pirate table cloths, pretty pink birthday sign, American Flag plates and Pirate napkins. As Linkin and I started decorating

Linkin "Dad wanted a pirate party?"
Me "Yep"
Linkin "I know it is just because that is all the decorations we have"

Hahhaahahahaaa!

I am not sure if people know if this about me but Cakes are my specialty. I pride myself in cake making. I couldn't wait to make Seth his birthday cake. I decided to do my traditional layer cake. Seth's favorite cake it white cake and chocolate frosting.

There were two layers alright...and a whole right in the middle of the cake! hahhaaa. Luckily Seth loves me dispite my cake making skills!! At least it tasted good!

Seth mother, Kris, made his favorite meal for this birthday, Snitzel. It was one tasty meal and made with LOVE. It isn't an easy meal to make. His mama sure loves him.

His Dad was there to celebrate!

Linkin were there too!

And Robin And Sadie Where there!

It was a great party. We ate, laughted and had a great time.
Happy 29th Birthday Love!

Big Sur Birthday

After Seth's Birthday Breakfast at Fist Awakenings, where he got a few coupons from the kids for Free Hugs, Freen Back Rubs, Free Movie Night Etc and tickets to a Blink 182 Concert from me we headed over to Farmers Market and walked around. A little history - on friday I was thinking what we were going to do. I thought maybe we can go to Big Sur for the day but then realized that is what I would want to do on my birthday and I would leave it up to Seth to choose whatever he wanted. On our way back to the house Linkin was asking him if he wanted to use his movie coupon or driving rang coupon. I explained to Linkin it was Seth's birthday and he could choose whatever he wanted to do..."Who knows Linkin for all we know he could want to spend the day in Big Sur HAHHAAAHHAA!" Seth replied "Serioulsy! I was going to suprise you all that is exactly where I am headed!" I said "I was joking since that is my favorite place to go." He said it was his favorite place to go as well! Yeah how fun!!

So we headed out to Big Sur for some more birthday fun!

While we were there Seth made a rock sculpture. He stacked up and balanced so many rocks. Linkin made a few too (don't have pictures...see next blog). Seth also taught Linkin how to skip rocks. They had so much fun!

Linkin and Sadie played in the river as Seth and I soaked up some sun in the river chairs. It was so much fun! Both of the kids were wet from head to toe. It was GREAT.

On our way home we stopped at the general store for some Big Sur Burritos! They were tasty, I would drive out there just to have one.
I have to tell you we all had such a wonderful time you would have thought it was all over our birthdays!
WE LOVE BIG SUR!
